Share materials / salvage board
When a remodel clears a Spanish Revival or Mills Act site, period clay tile, ironwork, windows, and fixtures often head to the dump. This board is a starter place to offer free or available historic parts so they can find a new home — salvage over landfill.
Why salvage matters
Matching weathered barrel tile, solid brass hardware, or steel casements can take months — while the same materials are discarded daily on jobsites. Reusing historic fabric:
- Preserves color, patina, and dimensions that new products rarely match
- Supports Mills Act and design-review expectations to retain character-defining features
- Keeps reusable building material out of landfill
